Default Troutdale area

I keep hearing about crime and wind in the Troutdale area...

So I would just like to know if it is CITY wide or if it is a more general area.

How is the neighborhood around SE Stark St and S Troutdale Rd (the sweetbriar neighborhood).

The winter can be windy...this is true....we have the infamous "east wind" here and garbage day during the winter may require you to bungie cord your garbage can to the mailbox. However, the east wind rarely howls in the Spring/Summer and early Fall, and we have the same weather that Portland Metro enjoys. Troutdale is like any other suburban town in Oregon. I don't have exact crime stats, but it's a fairly safe city. Lived here for almost two decades. Sweetbriar area is a nice area. Sweetbriar Elementary School is highly rated, as well as Walt Morey Middle School. Reynolds High School is one of the largest high schools in Oregon (almost 3,000 students) and pulls its student body from parts of East Portland, Gresham, Rockwood and Troutdale, and there have been some gang related activities associated at the high school from time to time, but nothing major that I've ever heard. I believe Reynolds H.S is pretty safe. All three of my kids attended Reynolds School District kindergarten through High School, all graduating within the past few years and they've never been "unsafe" at school, or I cannot recall any incidents that made me worry about their safety.

I would not worry about safety or crime in Troutdale it is hardly a gang hotbed but it is windy!

A friends daughter just graduated from Walt Morey last year and he said it was an excellent school. She went there from first grade.

Terryj will become famous soon enough
The one thing I remember about Troutdale, the cold east wind blowing down the gorge in the winter meeting the rain coming in from the west, it makes for interesting results.
