Default Need a good moving company to relocate from Los Angeles to Portland

I'm moving to Portland from Los Angeles in July. For those of you who've made the move, do you have any recommendations for a good moving company? We have quite a bit of stuff, so a uhaul is out of the question. Thanks for any help!

Have you considered PODs? They have a facility in Portland and doubtless a couple in your area.

Default I can help..

All I can say is DON"T USE ATLAS!! We had tons of stuff broken by the movers who were contracted by Atlas. It was a nightmare. Atlas was quick to reimburse us for broken goods but some of the things were antiques and items that could never be repaired or replaced. It was a joke The packer were extremely unprofessional.

When we moved from Southern Cal to Oregon we used Mayflower and they were really good. Only one item was damaged and they quickly paid for the item. Pretty good for a truck load of items. I thought the packers and movers were extremely professional and thorough. I would use them again...

Hope this helps...

We used a company called Golden Eagle when we moved here a couple of months ago. My husband did a lot of research and got quotes from a number of companies, but thought that Golden Eagle had the best balance of price, service, etc. They didn't break anything, and they were really polite and professional.

I heartily second this suggestion.

I used United Van Lines for a cross-country move and was happy with them.
