Default photo radar speed traps

I'd like this to be a thread where those of us who were ticketed or almost can record where the latest traps are.

I'll start:

In Beaverton, Cedar Hills Blvd. just south of the Hwy 26 exit - speed limit is 35. You will be going downhill and the van is around a curve on your right. This is much before you get to the businesses.

Texas has traps like you would not believe. You don't even have to break any laws to get a moving violation.

EscapefromOK, I'll be careful in TX then for sure - how infuriating it must be to get a ticket like that!

There are some poorly designed streets that lead to tickets which are borderline unfair - in my area there is a section of divided highway that goes from 55 to 35 with no notice. Because of a curve and trees, you can't really see the 35 sign until you are right on top of it, meaning you have to brake fairly hard to get down to 35. Because I live there I know it's there and I just let off the gas early to coast down by the time I get there. But I routinely see the police with cars pulled over, frequently with out-of-state plates.

After many complaints, warning signs were put in, some trees trimmed and some signs moved so that you have enough notice for it. But before that, it's definitely something I'd have considered a speed trap.

Thanks Cornerguy1 - I probably shouldn't have engaged in the debate myself but I'm disappointed no one else wanted to list where they've seen these photo radar vans. If this thread doesn't gain any traction (no pun intended) I don't mind if it gets deleted.

I think I got nabbed today. I usually don't take this exit, but when I do, I get confused about the limit, because it changes so many times on Canyon Road, ranging from 35 to 45. Up the hill towards 26 is 40mph. I forget what it is down hill and I believe they're exploiting this fact to nab drivers.

I got nabbed by a photo radar van on west bound, right near the intersection of SW Canyon Rd & SW Canyon Dr, Portland 97225 by Beaverton Police.

The west bound radar van sits in the shoulder just up the hill from the Goodwill Express store. I went past them and I saw two distinct flashes at me. I don't seem to recall the rear speed indicator telling me how fast I was going and when I went to check on it, I noticed a puddle of water from A/C condensate and the enigne was running. Nobody was in the front seat, but when I inspected the rear part, I saw a figure moving, hidden behind heavily tinted glass. Confirmed, manned.

Apparenty Beaverton was on Operation Revenue.

When you type in 8386 SW Canyon Rd, 97225, you can actually see the east bound photo radar van on Google street views.

If I do get a ticket, do these things go on your record?

Another location I've spotted the van:
Cedar Hills Blvd south bound, just before you reach Walker Rd intersection. Have not confirmed if it is manned or not. The rear speed indicator is not always turned on. They like to park in the shoulder inconspicuously unlike utility works vehicles concerned with safety that turns on their top yellow beacons.

Thanks TechmanOR for sharing and I may have good news for you. Beaverton supports an option for you to take a class and have the ticket removed from your record if it's your first one. Watch your mail like a hawk for the ticket - mine came with a court date set only two days from when it was in my mailbox.

So, these photo radars carry the same weight as far as records are concerned compared to being stopped by an actual police car?

It tells you a bit about how it's handled. I never had a ticket before, so I don't know how it works. I'm more concerned about getting it on my record.
Beaverton - Municipal Court: Traffic: Pay a Ticket

Should I retain an attorney and should I challenge it if I do end up getting the ticket in mail? If I get a $100 oh well, I don't really care, but I'm concerned about things going on my record, all because of their attempt to make profit.

Oh yeah... another spot.. It was either Watson or Hall, as you're coming towards Canyon Rd from Tigard/Progress on Hall Usually parked on left side. This one is usually very conspicuous, but the limit is something like 20 or 30.
