OB-GYN and Hospital recommendations?
My husband and I are new to Portland (like everyone else here I guess) and we are preparing to get pregnant. I don't have a doctor here yet, and I have found very little information online. I am hoping some of you can recommend a good OB-GYN and/or tell me which hospital is known to be the best to deliver at. The Providence places seem nice, but I have no clue!
I don't have many requirements as of yet...just looking for a GOOD doctor. Can be male or female. Area doesn't matter as long as it's somewhere between Tualatin and Vancouver. I do know I want someone with CLEAN, nice offices and not some stank waiting room filled with 20 other people who look like they rolled in off the street. Also, I am not an anal person, so I don't want a doctor with a paranoid, anal style who is going to give me a long list of things I should avoid and be scared of. I'd prefer someone who is more practical and laid back.
As far as hospitals...I want the one that is considered to be the most advanced in their labor and delivery departments. It wouldn't hurt to find out which have the best rooms either!
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks!

They are located in Emanuel Hospital. Very busy clinic, but docs are great.

Legacy is a fantastic hospital. I would stay away from OHSU unless you are looking at a high risk procedure, where they do excel. Providence is decent, not the best or the worst.

Women's Healthcare Associates at Legacy Meridian Park Hospital in Tualatin Oregon. That is where I went when I was pregnant. Loved my doctor! Also met several others there during the pregnancy and can honestly say that I loved everyone I met. If you have an appointment and the doctor is going to be more than 15 minutes late - they tell you. Great offices and great staff!

Thanks! I think I'm going to go with either Legacy Good Samaritan or Emanuel...whichever my Dr. delivers at. I picked Dr. Jenna Murray in NW Portland. Highly recommended!

I agree!! I had my son at Meridian, and EVERYONE I came into contact with were amazing! My OB is awesome, so if you want any info, feel free to contact me! I highly recommend them, their patient care is like no other!
