Default Colonial Heights?

In checking out homes on a realty website over the weekend I found an interesting place at 25th/Harrison in an area called "Colonial Heights" near Ladd's Addition. The walk score is very high because apparently there are lots of shops of various kinds on Harrison in that area, but I don't know what kinds of places they are, i.e., are they cool little cafes and bookstores, or dry cleaners and vacuum repair places? I've been looking mostly in the Belmont-Hawthorne/Sunnyside/Buckman areas, as well as Sellwood, and this is the first time I've heard of "Colonial Heights." Can someone describe the area to me? I'm visiting in 3 weeks and might check it out if it sounds like it might work for me.

I have to say, though, as someone who grew up on the east coast, that the name doesn't float my boat.

CH area is really like a subset of the Hawthorne/Sunnyside/Belmont area. It is within walking distance of the stuff you are looking for. Definitely worth checking out--it is a desireable area on the East Side.

Thanks so much! I was hoping that was the case, but having never seen the name before, I just wasn't sure. It's a bit closer to the bridges, too, which might be handy. I'll definitely check it out when I'm up there in early September visiting my friends in the Hawthorne area.
