I work as a welder in Arkansas and I have some auto-mechanics training. I'm thinking about going into auto-mechanics, still trying to build my tools up.
I'm tired of Arkansas. I do have a southern accent. Would the accent perhaps help me to get laid at times or would it just be a total liability. I don't have a family and I'm in a crappy apartment already. I'm a Buddhist, I assume that won't be much of a problem.
So what are the prospects like for someone like me?
Also, can you really go to the beach with a string and pull out crabs. Sorry, hopefully that didn't sound too "Arkansas".

Bad decision!! Mechanics are starving but welder's are one of the few professions in high demand and expected to remain that way. You need to go to where the jobs are.

What sex are you and what sex do you want to lay? Southern accents work best if you're a girl and want to lay a guy.

No, there are plenty of crappy apartments here. You'll fit right in.

It's called a crab snare but a baited ring works better. However you'll be violating the 1st precept of Buddhism.

You should talk to someone from Portland Community College's welding program. They will be able to give you the best information about current job prospects for the area. Their website is here: (Welding Technology | PCC).

When I took the first precept I asked what I could do if I was attacked by an animal. The monk said it was ok to defend myself and also to kill animals for food. The majority of the guys at my temple hunt and/or fish. So agree with it or not I wouldn't be breaking it as it was given to me. I do kind of want to try vegetarianism at least for a while but I also really like crab.
I'm a dude trying to lay women. I meant I was trying to build up a set of tools not get my penis erect.
Hey if I can find work in Portland as a welder then great!

Thanks for the link figmalt.

Our Dungenees Crab are to die for. If the monk said it's OK then go for it.

Save an extra crab and bottle of wine for the women and you might get lucky.

The Swan Island dry dock, Columbia Gorge wind farms, UP rail yards and various construction projects may be your best bet for welding.
