Bush calls Portland Little Beirut.

Isn't that just the sweetest!

That was the OTHER Bush, but part of the hostility toward him he managed to generate himself. The few times he flew into town, he generally landed right about morning rush hour, and the Secret Service would close the ENTIRE Banfield Freeway (I-84), which is the only east-west freeway in Portland, and snarl up traffic all day. Being stuck in that traffic jam did not give me warm and fuzzy feelings toward him.

And then there is the whole "politics" thing, but that's another story....

I don't care what Bush calls Portland.
Just let him call it away from where he is located.

Portland deserves that nickname. There's a protest in the streets nearly every week, blocking rush-hour traffic and generally pissing off the people they're trying to get their message across to - but then again, I suspect a lot of them are in the streets just to get on the TV cameras.
