Default Seeking info on two areas in PDX!

Hello everyone!

My fiance and I are moving to Portland from Los Angeles, and I recently found two potential places in two different neighborhoods. The first is near Concordia University, and the second is in the Mt. Scott neighborhood.

If anyone here could tell me a little bit about these areas, I'd appreciate it a great deal! Thanks

Good luck with the move. About a year ago I too moved up here from L.A. and haven't regretted the decision. Regarding the two areas you mentioned I can help you with Concordia.

Concordia is a "transitional" neighborhood in the Portland sense. It has some really great shopping and neighborhood stores located on its southern edge along Alberta. The area is very up and coming with a New Seasons (think better version of Wild Oates) market, Hot Lips Pizza, and other business in the area. The Kennedy School, a great bar, is also close by. It is a area in the midst of gentrifying, so it can be a bit rough around the edges depending on where you live. It reminds me a what Silver Lake/Echo Park/Sunset Junction wish they could be. I like the area and think it has a lot going for it.
