Default Commute times & Fishing info

Hi.

My husband and I are relocating to Portland. He will have to commute to the downtown area everyday. We are curious about commute times.

Does anyone know the commute time from Scappoose to downtown?

How about from Gresham? Or Brush Prairie, WA?

Secondly, he is an avid fisherman and wildlife lover. Any suggestions if we want to live somewhere where he can pursue fishing on his days off? At this point we are not partial to a city, but are considering the places above.

Thanks!!!

i have no idea on commute times, but I'll tell ya, if its fishing he likes, he wont have far to go living here in Oregon. We have some pretty incredible lakes/rivers for fishing, and of course, ocean fishing too if thats up his alley. Depending on what he's fishing for that day, he'll have quite the aray of choices. Best of luck to you!
Tiffany

For commute times, start with Google Maps:

http://maps.google.com

and seek directions between any city and Portland, OR. That assumes no traffic of course, but those times would be minimums. Scappoose is on highway US 30. Probably not your worse inbound commute in the morning, but I would add 10 to 20 minutes at rush hour. I-5 south from Vancouver is pretty bad in the mornings potentially due to the Interstate Bridge lifting at bad times. Like any other city, the inbound freeways get very at rush hour.

Default Commute and Fishing

Lizzy B,

Funny, I like fishing and am an avid wildlife fan as well. I bet you and my wife would get along.

I may be moving to Scappoose or Damascus myself soon. Hopefully you can get me some good info. I'm also concerned with the commute times during Rush Hour traffic.

Also, do you know about the commute coming from some place like Brush Prairie, WA during rush hour?

thanks
