Is there a store similar to Microcenter (or CompUSA before they closed) in PDX? I've tried a few google searches and can't come up with anything.

ENU is good. Here's another small one: Pace Computers.

If you want the big-box store type, then Fry's in Wilsonville is usually worth the trip: Fry's Home Electronics | Computer Parts & Accessories, Software, Games, TVs, Cameras - Frys.com

There might also be a few gems available for dirt cheap prices through Free Geek, especially if you know what you're looking for.

Yeah that's pretty true about Free Geek, it can be spendy and they may not have what you want the first time you check but if you keep checking back or aren't picky you'd probably find something.

Many times, we go to the warehouse size store called Fry's, in Wilsonville, Oregon. Next exit south from the Costco.

Their URL used to be outpost.com Now they have frys.com

There are complete items like cameras and computers, or isles of components like hard drives, keyboards and mother boards.

The computer below is the one our son put together for me last year with parts from Frys. The previous computer, was a metal case, but I thought Acrylic might be a nice change this time. My last 3 computers and our sons 2 computers were all assembled with parts bought at Frys.

Fry's in Wilsonville is definitely the place to go for electronics in the Portland area.

Fry's is incredible - that is the place to go - it is a massive electronics warehouse.
