So my GF and I might go up to Portland for 3-4 or so. What is there to do? Hotspots?

I presume you mean beyond the usual tourist stuff like the Zoo, Japaneses Garden, Powell's book store, Walk down Hawthorne ST between 28th to 39th street, ride the MAX light rail system, yada, yada, yada.

Check out the NBA Portland Trailblazers might be in town and see if tickets are available.

A couple of street newspapers with club and music (also art stuff like classical music and live theater):
(oh, and don't be surprised if you don't know the local bands they highlight...local thing.)
Willamette Week : Portland News, Music, Movies, Events, Restaurants
and
Portland Mercury

Enjoy Portland.

Aside: I personally would visit Mt Tabor Park. Portland, I believe, is the only city in the lower 48 that has inside it's city limits an old inactive volcano. Mt. Tabor is worn down somewhat in the last few million years, but it still is a cone shaped caldera top. Kind of cool to say you were there. Takes longer to find the park entrance than to actually "see" the old vent. Google Boring Lava Field and Mt. Tabor Portland OR
