I lived in CA for ten years, and I never heard anyone actually call it Cali. Only out-of-staters and perhaps the occasional utterance by a resident teenage girl..

I'm currently living in the SF bay area (can't wait to leave here btw) and nobody says Cali, and you'd better not say "Frisco" either!
