Wow...I just want to thank everyone for all of their responses...I'd also like to add that I am also concerned about the time limit because my 1st child took approx 17 hours from start to finish...I just want a fair chance. Now, if I see that my baby is at risk, I would never take the chance of hurting him just to deliver vaginally...My water has not broken, I am going to the hosp at 5pm on Thursday and I no that his office opens Friday at 12pm...(He has been known to reschedule appointments because of deliveries though) Im passing my due date and he says the baby is measuring 42 weeks...I think hes concerned with the baby's size...

Just curious, how big was your first baby? Do you think that your due date is correct?
ETA: I would express my concerns about the time limit to the Dr and ask him what the purpose of it is. If your labor is progressing and there are no complications I don't see how he can force you to have a C-section unless there is a problem.

Good luck with things! I hope that you can talk some sense into your doctor so that he will at least allow you to labor without a time limit.

Oh my, OP, your first was tiny! Good luck with your chunk, I'm sure everything will be fine. I do have a friend that had a 10lb 4 oz baby with no tearing, so like others here either way is possible. Just when the time comes don't be afraid of the c-sec if it becomes necessary.
Be prepared for a whole nuther experience with this one as a newborn, given the size difference b/w 1st and 2nd!

Relax. Often the ultrasound measurements are off so you may have an 8 or 9 pound baby. Just because the baby may be 10 pounds doesn't mean you will have to have a c-section. Even if you do it is not the end of the world. The worst part of the c-section was the first time getting up from bed and the gas pains. Move around as soon as they let you. Do alot of walking, do not stay in bed all day. I have had 3 c-sections and consider myself an expert.
Also I don't know if any other women have that c-section overhang thing just under the scar. I hate that.
Good luck

Do women deliver babies this big vaginally??? Im scared he wont be able to come out....like he might get stuck or something...
Also, my baby is in the head down position but still has not dropped.

Try not to think to harshly of your doc, he's most likely scared to death of a malpractice lawsuit, but he IS being overly cautious.
WHY are you being induced?? That pitocin is A LOT scarier than a 10 lb baby, lol!!!
