Is it common for dads/boyfriends to go to their wife's/partner's prenatal appointments these days? I go in for a wellness check & the waiting room has so many couples in it. I am past childbearing age. I almost feel out of place & a bit uncomfortable. Has anyone else noticed this? Are you part of one of these couples? Enlighten me.

It's pretty common, but a lot of the guys start to slack off toward the end when the appointments are every other week and then every week.

There is no reason for them to go most of the time. I think it is more common for them to go the first time you can hear the heart beat, and for the ultrasounds.

Mine did but we had waited a long, long time for a Baby and had a lot of medical "help".

I do think that it's a great thing that more men are going to appt, I wonder if it's because of newer/better ultrasounds? I mean, when my mom had us kids, there was nothing for my dad to "see".

I'm 25 weeks and my husband has been to all of mine. He is just really likes to go, and he gets excited hearing the heartbeat each month.

I had been to one such Clinic for a gynaec visit and I too did see a lot of couples. I think some men have the time and/or the interest for this. Personally, my Husband thinks I'm capable of visiting doctors alone(and he has never accompanied me to one) and I prefer going alone too. I don't know if pre natal or pregnancy appointments will make this different for me

My mom had 3 pregnancies past the age of 40 and my dad went with her for each visit.

Cripes, everyone is uncomfortable at a Doctor's Office and as far as going to appointments what do you care who is there for what. If that bothers you so much perhaps you should find a new Doctor that does not treat prenatal women.
