Hello,

My husband and I decided to start trying to get pregnant. I stopped birth control in May (3 months ago) and had a consistent period since. Well, this month (August), my period never came. I experienced some slight cramping like it would show up, but it never did. I took a pregnancy test and I'm not pregnant. I have scheduled an appointment with my doctor, but they can't see me until next month.

Has anyone experienced this? Before I was on birth control, I never missed a period.

When was your period due? Depending on the sensitivity of the test, of you are very newly pregnant, there may not be enough HCG, the hormone indicating pregnancy, present yet.

It is roughly 5-8 days late. My cycles are usually 25 - 28 days

Which test? Did you take more than one?

I went to the doctor yesterday and took a blood test. It came back negative. They said it will take a while for my body to regulate. This is my first time being off BD in 12 years and first time trying to conceive, so I guess I am being overly cautious. Thanks for the feedback!
