Can you all share with me your favorite titles for pregnancy books? "Back in the day" it was all about "What to Expect When You're Expecting." I see it's still on the shelves. Maybe it's a classic? What do you recommend?

You're a mom. Talk to her. Books can't do any better job than the real thing.

Thats the only book I love (what to expect) when it comes to pregency books it really does give you the best info and at the exact months you need them... I also gave like 4 of those books as gift and the moms to be loved them

I did want to say I read your other posting and you couldnt handle the situation any better. All you can do is be there for them and help guide them along the way. Your son is beyond lucky to have such a supportive mom... Good Luck!!!!

I agree! That was my pregnancy "bible" for all three babies. It was like having a girlfriend along with you the whole nine months.

While I had my mom, aunts, mom in law, sis in law, friends and of course Dr. to ask a million question to I also found it fun and relaxing to read a book about all the diffrent things and feeling that go along with a pregnancy...

I have to second "What to Expect". We recieved a copy from my MIL when my wife was pregnant with our first. Everything is easy to reference and it gives you a lot of information without being preachy about individual techniques or practices being better than others.

When my wife was pregnant with number 3, we actually picked up another copy of "What to Expect" as our first met an untimely demise while my wife was soaking in the tub towards the end of her pregnancy with number 2. The latest revised edition has a lot of extra information in it and also includes a much improved section for expectant fathers.

My wife read it cover to cover, I tended to use it as a reference guide and would try to stay up with "what to expect" during the next month. We kept it in the bathroom, as I'm guessing she assumed that I would read it then.

I used "What to Expect" as a reference guide big time when I was pregnant. Glad to hear it has an improved section for fathers. I also ordered a couple of "teen pregnancy" books - some geared to the expectant mom & dad and one geared toward the grandparents.

Books inform, open up dialogue and can be informative and entertaining.

No mom can remember EVERYTHING about pregnancy and each pregnancy is different. A book can offer many more perspectives, scenarios, and factual info than any one person could.

I enjoyed "Girlfriend's Guide to Pregnancy". Not so much medical, but truthful and humorous.
