DALLAS (AP) - A model on the November cover of Teen Vogue is a 19-year-old who reveals in the magazine that she is pregnant.

Jourdan Dunn is not visibly pregnant on the cover, and Teen Vogue Editor-in-Chief Amy Astley said the magazine didn't know about Dunn's pregnancy until after the photo shoot. But she said that editors didn't consider pulling the cover Dunn shares with fellow model Chanel Iman.

Yes, it would be nice if the article itself used the pregnancy news to address the difficulties of being a young, single mother, and of balancing career and work. Still, I have no problems with the cover itself. It would be different if the pregnancy itself were being glamorized, or if it was like the Demi Moore photo, but given that you can't tell she's pregnant I don't see the issue. Plus, she's 19. I don't know her background or if she's hoping for college at some point (or is she currently enrolled? It sounds like she's a successful model, so I assume she's not at the moment), but while this is indeed a major life-changing event, it's also not like she's 15, in high school, and with no money. I think most teens realize that having a baby is tough, and if they don't, well, I don't think that magazine articles have much of an impact on that opinion.

^^ I couldn't agree more.

Also, I agree... while being 19 is certainly young to have a child, IMHO, I don't think it's grounds for any sort of controversy. She is an adult, after all. I see this as kind of being a non-issue. I think that when Britney Spears' sister had a child a few years back, at 15 or however old she was, was a much more valid "OMG" moment.
