Default Snowstorm Coming Wednesday

We are looking to get 6"-10"+ of snow on Wednesday through Thursday, with high winds and temps dropping into the 10F-15F mark.

We will NOT see temps above freezing for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. We are going to hover around 30F for the highs and 10F-14F for the lows. That is 3 days of below freezing temps with no chance to thaw. This means A LOT of broken water mains and horrid street icing conditions. I am not too confident of the city clearing the streets out here. They do a below average job IMHO.

Better just stay home if you can...

And the tourists from the lower valley will be here in numbers.
The local paper is already warning people not to just stop on the side of the road to play in the stuff.
What do you want to bet that the rooms will be filled locally in the motels?
I think the city does a pretty good job on the streets here. I have lived in areas of the country that do a lot worse.
Let's just hope that common sense comes into play here.
So many people with 4 WD think they are immune to conditions like this and don't realize that ice or packed snow has little traction.
Oh well, the tow companies will make a lot of money on the people that cannot figure that out.
I think I will stay home, enjoy the view and just wait for New Years.

We have about 3" or more now on the SW side of town. I understand heavy stuff will set in tonight.

12" here at my house this morning.
I uploaded a couple of shots of it at this thread on page 3, I am not sure how to put them here though.

Snowfall -- how can this be?

It's refreshing! I took a pic from my garage, I'll see about posting it in the same thread soon.

Everyone be careful out there. The low tonight will be 5 degrees. We will not see above freezing temps until SUNDAY. With the windchill, it will be -10F below zero. Remember the 3 P's:
Pipes
Pets
Plants

The ice and car accidents will be plentiful. SLOW DOWN!

This is the coldest it has been since we moved here. Snow is still on the ground on the Prescott Country Club streets. Usually it melts by noon.

I also just read that it snowed in Scottsdale for a couple of minutes!
