We really like Nichols West in Congress (of all places). Best fried oysters we have ever had anywhere. Perhaps the best burger in the county, too. A monster. Two kinds of cheese and GREAT fries, too. They taste like they are double-fried, but are not. When you say rare you get it really rare, too. I have them toast the bun.

Really good salad, too. Not the token effort that is so common. Wife and I split a burger and a salad for lunch.

It is really much more than a burger joint, with a number of really good offerings, but this weekend we had the burger, and loved it.

Give them a Google and see.

We tried to go to Prescott Steak House last night, and it was closed, and dark. There were a few cars pulling up, like us, wondering. Off we went to Texas Road House. Anyone hear what happened to it?

Don't know if "Rosa's," the new Italian place on Gurley (used to be "Porky's BBQ,") has been covered here; but had dinner there last night and it was wonderful. Excellent Italian! I had the Veal Marsala with angel hair pasta, and my friend (she's a veg) had "Rosa's Special Dumplings" (made from Parmesan batter) in a marinara sauce - and both were excellent. Also shared a "Greek Salad," and it was wonderful. One also gets garlic bread.

The prices were reasonable, and the menu is extensive and covers several types of pizza (about $11-$14 for a large.)

I understand the owners had a similar restaurant in New Yawk, and after sampling the atmosphere, food and service, I believe it. I almost felt like I was in another world when we finished with a plate, and within about 30 seconds a busboy would zip by and take it away. One doesn't often see service like that in AZ.

It was very busy last night, but we only had to wait about 20 minutes before getting a booth (without a reservation.)

I cook good Italian, so don't often eat it out, but "Rosa's" is special, and I highly recommend it.

(Don't miss seeing Sinatra's late-40's mug shot over the bar.)

We went back to Prescott Stek House, and it was ok. My Filet was well done, not medium, and had no bleu chhese as I had ordered. My husband loved his prime rib. It seemed a bit rarer than medium rare, but he likes it that way. They gave me a free dessert for the steak mishap. I am sure they would have taken it back, but we were pressed for time. Overall good, but not fantastic.

I just read a review about Rosa's Italian restaurant. They operated a restaurant in Sedona but tired of the heat, so they relocated to Prescott, and just love it here. It is family operated and Rosa often waitresses. I plan to check it out.

I was doing some readings of reviews of Bin 239. Apparently they have gone downhill from what they were?
I will have to give Rosa's a try as I am hearing good things about them.

Default Bill's Grill

Just went to Bill's Grill. Excellent lunch, excellent prices. There were four of us, and we were all raving about our meal. Same guy as Bill's Pizza. The seating was a little odd, as they had many picnic tables, some elevated (bar height) tables and some regular tables as well as a small bar. My MIL had limited knee flexibility, so I am glad we got there there early to get a "regular" table and chairs. I would recommend it to try. They had several vegetarian selections. There is a menu online I believe. Yummo.

Saw that opening, probably wouldn't have tried it, but love Bill's pizza so will do now. Thanks for the heads-up.
