Default Emergency Services in Prescott and PV

Are ambulances private there or run by the city? Where I live now ambulance services are free...but not so in San Tan Valley AZ I found out the hard way (same thing, I had chest pain, this time due to anxiety attack and next thing you know flashing lights all the way to a hospital) ...

How about fire dept? Is that run by city? Volunteer or?

I know in San Tan Valley, since we are outside city limits we have to pay $400 a year for fire insurance coverage, otherwise if your house catches fire you have to pay the salaries (and any other costs) of everyone involved to put out your fire...

So, exactly how are Emergency Services set up there?

I would have never thought to ask these questions, as here in WA, everyplace I have lived, you are not billed for ambulance services, it is paid for by the city...(although that probably is not true in more rural areas)

It is important to know these things ahead of time, rather than get socked with a surprise bill...esp re the fire dept LOL Paying for an ambulance is one thing, but paying the salaries of a fire crew could probably get pretty darn expensive...

Ambulances are private. The fire department in Prescott is paid by the city, through sales tax and property tax. The fire department in Prescott Valley and much of southern Yavapai County is paid through property taxes.

Home Page | Life Line Ambulance is the one we use. That is, we are pre-paid. Have not used them yet.

Default Thanks

Brian and Wretched

That is a pretty reasonable fee for ambulance pre-paid service. ($49/yr)
