Hello, Just looking at moving to the Prescott area and I am curious what your public school system is like in Prescott and Prescott valley. We currently live in Canada, and it would influence where we buy our home in the area. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Take a look at this thread: 2011 School Grades

Here are the 2012 grades. http://www.biggsrealtors.com/Account...ool_Grades.pdf

I'm not sure if the 2013 grades are out yet. Granville Elementary School is the highest rated elementary school in the area.

Apparently the 2013 grades are out. Take a look at this website. You can search for a school and then get the demographics and the grade of the school. http://www.azcentral.com/news/educat...ool-scores.php

I also am moving to Prescott or Prescott Valley. I have been researching school stats and the numbers start looking the same. School test scores are not the only thing to consider. Its how the teachers interact with the kids, How open the schools is to parent interaction in the class room, Are they the type of school that is only about the number on the test or that the kids are actually learning useful things, do they think outside the box because all kids learn different or do they believe one size fits all. I have found a few parent reviews on Great Schools site but I feel over whelmed in my search. Because my son does not fit in a box he is a different kind of thinker which tends to end him up in trouble with the "box" type of schools. I would love to talk or chat with parents who have kids who need IEP acomidations and who may have adhd because the numbers on the test stats are not helping. But I am going to Prescott in 3 weeks for a short vaca so Im hoping to line up a meeting with a few schools in Prescott and PV. hoping that will help.

When choosing a community in which to raise my kids, I watched the kids leave the high school in the afternoon, and decided whether I wanted my kids to be part of that group.
