Can't Say specifically for Prescott, But I've all way found that places that install / sell tires are happy to give you free air.

Most of the even do it for you. ( I give them a small tip) but it not required.

Big O Tires on the corner of Iron Springs and Gail Gardner will as well.

I use the Texaco on Sheldon St. to fill up always and I know they provide free air as well, but only while they are open during the day. The air compressor is actually located on the Bennett Oil side of the station...

At every truckstop, at the diesel fuel lanes, the air is free.. Just a tip. At the same truckstop you pay a few quarters for the car air.

Same here. Sometimes, in soft sand, I air down my tires to get out. Then need the pump for hard road again.

Get some advice from an experienced off-roader on that. Every vehicle/tire combination is different. You want to be as low as you can be without having the bead leave position.

Here is an informative link:

And carry a shovel and pruning shears. Shears will cut brush to firm up the loose sand to get you unstuck. and gloves to avoid blisters from all the cutting you will do. I learned this the hard way when I only had a pocket knife.
