I work from home and sometimes I just gotta get out of there. I've found a few coffee shops that have fast internet connections but they close early. Anyone know of a coffee shop that is open say till 10 that has has fast internet (25 megs listed 5+ megs practical)? Sometimes I have to rdp via a VPN into remote machines and I don't want to gobble up all the bandwidth.

Thanks.

Default Late hour coffee shops...

As for real coffee shops..there are none that go past 7:00pm. While I don't consider Starbucks a real coffee shop anymore they do stay open till 10:30pm( if these hours fit your bill).

cheers...

Starbucks in Frontier Village only has a 1 meg down speed. It is reliable and I do go there on occasion but I worry about hogging up the the data pipe when there are a lot of people there. I believe the one out by Walmart in Prescott closes up early. The one by Chipotle I believe has a slower connection too. There are Stabuck's in some of the super markets that have lounges...I haven't tried those and most likely won't unless I get desperate. The Library is open late some nights but the internet is too inconsistent.

I agree with you NC Transplant, Starbuck's are my last choice, though the people that work at them are nice.

So far Stepping Stones, Gurley Street Coffee, and Cuppers in Prescott have the speeds but not the hours

Really what I'm after is a co-loc work place. I guess there was a short lived effort a few years ago but it wasn't successful. Bummer.

So the quest continues...

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by this. Could you explain, please? Thanks.

Co-location workplace...shared office space. Where you can go in and grab a table or partitioned area and work out of it and pay per day or per month usually. There are a few places that do this down in Phoenix and it is popular in some other areas of the country. The benefits are that it gets you out of the house and provides a place for networking and collaboration on projects.

Here is an example out in California workzones - Santa Barbara Co-working Office Space

I'm in Northern California near Palo Alto. I too work from home. We have temporary and virtual office setups in this area but they mostly offer a lot of things I don't want to pay for, like phones, receptionist, copy/fax, meeting rooms... We don't really have co-working spaces.

Thanks for the info.
