Driving by the construction site today was a surprise.
The tower is up and the building is on the foundation.
I think from the marks on the pavement that they have to bring power in however.
They certainly are moving right along on this project.

The tower had the antennas installed yesterday but I see that the incoming power box on the wall still had no meter telling me that they have not run the power line to it just yet.

Status is still unchanged. No work done in the last week whatsoever.
I am assuming we are waiting for APS to trench in the tower to the equipment now.

I see this morning road signs are up and they are starting to trench in power to the cell site from across the street. So perhaps it's a matter of days before this thing goes online and I can take down my repeater that has been required to maintain service for a couple of years now.

The new tower at the soccer park has the conduit run for the power from across the street now. They just have to pull in the wiring and power it up. I don't know when they plan on doing that and it's been 3 work days now since they put the conduit in.
Don't forget if you have a 3g phone like I do that you will have to update the towers or so I am told when it goes online.

Default Any updates

Does anyone have any updates on the completion of the cell tower and whether reception is any better? What about internet through cable in Viewpoint - is that available?

Thanks

The cell tower is complete with the exception of pulling the power wire through as stated on 8/29. I suspect that as the conduit ws in place a week ago that they should pulling cable in this week. I don't know if this will require any testing but even if it does it will be short term.
Without this new tower, cell service is weak in this area and subject to dropped calls frequently.
Cable One has 50 MB speed internet out here and it's very reliable. I am in View Point North and the area is about 10+ years old. I would imagine that the higher speed internet service also extends down to the final build out of homes now being sold down the road.
Note that all services (electric/CATV) are underground in this area so it keeps it looking cleaner.

Thanks.

Please update what you think of the reception when the cell tower is up and running.

It simply will not be an issue. This new tower is only 500' from my house.
So I could not give a fair assessment.
That being said, the tower I now lock onto with a beam antenna and amplifier is almost 8 miles away.
