Most white people are not racist regardless of what the media says. Most white people will not tolerate any others that hate any race. I know I would not and I am a whitey. I say go for it, rent first then you can bail if you do not like it. It will take you at least a year there anyway to see if you like it. It always takes at least a year where ever you choose to live to decide.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that whole debacle was all Steve Blair. In his defense, the skin tone on the Hispanic kid at the forefront of the mural was so dark that he did indeed appear to be Black. I'm not going to to defend his borderline racist remarks though... is he even on the city council anymore?

Anyhow, I've lived here since '92 and have recently seen quite a few Black families in town, and I'm really happy to see Prescott finally having a bit of diversity. Prescott needs more families of any color, less retirees, and way less rehab facilities. However, I'm not sure that you are going to get the most accurate representation of reality when it comes to being Black in Prescott from a bunch of white people. But then again, aren't we all from Africa anyway?

Just get a pick up truck, a cowboy hat n boots, and carry a 1911 in a custom holster and you'll fit right in.

Black people usually have no issues in terms of racism in Arizona...unfortunately, as it turns out, for most of the white culture in Arizona, Navajo is the new black. They treat the Navajo with more contempt and derision than a slave owner ever treated black folk they owned. It's really disgusting.

That said, there aren't many Navajo in Prescott - probably because Prescott's a little too red state for them. ;-/
