Interesting to see more info on the builder, and how much grease went to Chino or Prescott city counsels from them. Sadly, the houses will sell. It will be almost exclusively to retirees though. Maybe we can tack on another Walmart out in Chino.

Some "engine".

Those that oppose growth squander their opportunity to have input into responsible growth. Growth WILL HAPPEN, the question is what kind of growth? The nimbys in Chino stopped a KOA camground and tried to stop a solar farm and as a result got pot farms and dollar stores. You need to think smart when you are tempted to oppose growth and negotiate, not oppose or you will end up making things worse not better. Your opposition could mean you end up with drug rehab group homes everywhere or a prison instead of a new hardworking neighbor with 2 kids a wife and a dog .

A neighborhood where the workers do what? This is the growth problem. Houses are for workers, usually there is work...then the demand for housing comes in. This is backwards, building the housing first with no work and just assuming it will come. Bad assumption. More retirees will come though.

It is easy to see where this is headed. Yes growth will come, and it will be the same type of growth here that has been happening for the last decade. GDP in the area has actually declined even though the population has gone up. And using scare tactics to push something through is lame sauce. You can be pro-growth, the right kind of growth, without nodding yes to every developer scheme. Amusingly I don't really even care that much, just that it shouldn't be sold as something that it will never be. It is another retiree village. Done.

Growth brings business which creates jobs.Consider all the areas with jobs started with no jobs and then growth happened. The Prescott area has some of best weather in the US and beautiful scenery,Chino Valley is developing an Industrial park and have already had lookers from the business community for possible high paying jobs.

Can you tell me where that industrial park will be?

20k people divided by 15k homes = 1.33 people per home. This sounds like a retirement village to me. That, or the actual population will be 30k.

Where will the water come from? If all else fails, the sewage treatment plant.

Im just hoping by the time i get there next year i can still grab 10 acres for 100k. Luckily it seems like most people wanna live right next to their neighbors. Especially the retirement age folks.

Of course, this is rational thinking. But generally speaking, I wonder if what happens at a city-council or a county board-of-supervisors level is that they see themselves in competition with neighboring counties and municipalities. For instance, if affluent retirees go to Cottonwood instead of Prescott, PV, or CV, then so does the tax revenue. (It's no secret that municipal bond funds, pension funds, and other local public obligations are in trouble the land over.)

Another issue, of course, is that big land owners -- often established in an area for several generations -- and their "partners-in-crime", production home builders, land speculators, and real-estate developers, have a tremendous sway on council and BOS decisions.
