Anyone that lives off View Point knows that is the only road to ever increasing housing in Prescott Valley.
We need better or more access to this area? As is, View Point is the only road into this area.
Coming off HWY 89 at the View Point exit is bad enough with only one left turn lane to the ever increasing housing/building that is taking place. But that light is always screwing up. I have seen traffic backed up to the top of the exit ramp left turn lane and had to wait 3 cycles of the light to make the left to go home.
I have also noted that I can sit there waiting with no cross traffic in any direction and the light will not change for a long time to make a left. When this happens I call the number of the people that maintain that system and they come out and fix it but it happens about once a month. That number if you are interested or see problems is 759-2426.
It would appear that there might be room for a second lane to turn left and just make two lanes turning left from the exit. Maybe not???
Something needs to be done, one way or another. I have seen traffic backed up beyond the left turn lane to nearly the top of the exit at 89 and View Point many times and that is not even during commute traffic hours.

That center lane off ramp from highway 89A can be designated as a 2nd left turn lane. When you drive under the bridge, there's a buffer zone painted on the pavement. That will eventually be expanded into another lane and a right turn lane into Pronghorn Ranch. The problem is Prescott Valley has to lay more payment down for Viewpoint Dr. to be two lanes going north into the subdivision and two lanes south making it a 4 lane street. The infrastructure itself is abysmal and needs to be bought up with the city.

Off topic, another gas station like a 7-Eleven or Mavrik on the north side of 89A is needed as Robert's Market prices gouges customers. Would also like a McDonald's there or something similar.

Read those articles, it still doesn't address the off-ramp left turn lanes. There needs to be two left turn lanes from 89A to Viewpoint Dr. Secondly, widen it to 2 lanes both directions w/ right turn lane onto Pronghorn Ranch. If the city was smart, they would extend Pronghorn Ranch Pkwy westbound and make a connection to Glassford Hill Rd.

Take a look at: https://www.cympo.org/wp-content/upl...nal-Report.pdf
Pages 19 and 94 talk about the Viewpoint/89A intersection.

It appears that it will be years before something is done.

So the earliest they can get a 2nd left turn lane onto Viewpoint Dr from 89A off-ramp is 2025? That's way too long, better to start construction next year.
