There were many websites that showed they do fry them in oil, this was just one.

If you read the link you provided,Keninaz, one doesn't get a straight answer but more answers they are fried and then shipped to stores to be baked. When they open their store, you can ask them.

With Dunkin opening next year, what's the deal with Bosa Donuts in Prescott? I'd also like to see Desert Donuts expand up here from north Phoenix. They have good stuff, ready to order fresh and give out Veteran discounts.

I sent an email to DD to ask about baking vs. frying.
I was told it's up to the franchise owner as to what they do and want.
Some franchises, even new ones, fry, while other owners choose to bake after they are shipped in.
We will have to wait until this store opens to find out what they do.
I certainly hope they fry.

What makes fried better than baked, or is it personal preference?

Well prepped and frozen for shipment and then fried to me says it's older dough.
I would think that if they are frying donuts that the dough is prepped fresh each day for frying.
I am familiar with baked donuts, not sure of the entire process, but they just don't taste as good as a fried freshly prepared donut.
I do know that most of the grocery stores receive breads and such frozen, then they are baked for sale.

I grew up with freshly prepared dough that they fried on the spot and they do taste different to me.

I have heard that Outlaw Donuts in Prescott are very good but I have not been there.
Just for kicks I email them and asked if they prepare dough locally and fry it.
This was their answer.

"We make all our donuts in house and do not freeze or receive any frozen products.

We feel that the best way to put a product on the market is to be real and put in the work.

Thank you for your inquiry on this topic..

And we do hope too see you soon..

Zeek
Co. Owner "

It's a bit of a drive for donuts but I will have to give them a try.
