Default Prescott Valley-Trader Joes

I e-mailed the city of Prescott Valley asking when the Trader Joes would be opening.

They e-mailed back with this reply: "At this time we cannot confirm that Trader Joes will be locating in Prescott Valley."

Did I get my hope up for nothing?

This doesn't mean much. They never confirm until it's a done deal. When I was buying my house the City of Tucson had all these vague articles about Westcor buying the land next to my neighborhood. I wanted to make sure and e-mailed Westcor. They didn't want to confirm it, either. Sure enough, they DID buy the land, so you may very well get your TJ's. Once rumors start, they're usually true.

Interesting . . . They chose not to "confirm" it. That's better than saying something like there are no plans for a Trader Joe's in Prescott Valley. I've been hearing from some "people in the know" that it should be open before next spring. Of course, "people in the know" don't always know, and sometimes things change.

Write Trader Joe's Corp offices and see what they have to say.

Well, they do have Coming Soon locations on their website and Prescott is not one of them:

Welcome to Trader Joe's - Your Neighborhood Grocery Store - Locations

I occasionally check this way to see if Nordstrom plans to come near me , but so far no such luck... Don't quite understand why they think they're such a big deal and there isn't enough money for them down here...

I'm kind of obsessive about Trader Joes, and I have already checked the coming soon locations. Maybe it was just talk, and no actual commitment.

Same here. I'm a very enthusiastic amateur chef and I need a few specialty food markets to be entirely happy. I'm also a professional wine drinker (just kidding) and love TJ's extremely reasonable wine prices.

I've been sort of using TJ's locations list as a short list of places to check out for relocation when I retire. I don't absolutely require a TJ's but if there's one in town I get a better feeling about possibly relocating there.

Well, I checked my "sources" again yesterday. They confirmed that they've poured the footings for the new TJ's store. Should be completed sometime in the fall. I'm not sure why nobody wants to confirm it . . . but they didn't deny it, either. . . . Maybe I've already said to much . . .

That's good and I'm happy for you Prescottonians. It makes me feel better too considering that I haven't ruled Prescott out yet as my retirement home. In fact that ups Prescott's livability in my personal ratings.

Would you care to give an approximate location? Maybe cross streets or something? Or a nearby landmark we can all identify?
