How about parking RV's in backyards? Are the HOA Nazi's lenient on that? Or should I look for something not in a "CC&R" community? Thank you.

RV's won't be allowed in those subdivisions. Other parts of PV you can have them behind a fence, however the Town Council just approved "small" (whatever that means) RV's that can be parked on an RV pad for a certain length of time.

You can park RV's out in the Prescott Country Club.

Smile Welcome to Prescott!

Hi Christy - welcome to Prescott! You'll love the weather here as compared to Lake Havasu. MUCH milder temps.

There are several rental agencies here. I hear varying opinions about almost all of them. If you'll send me a PM or email, I'd be glad to pass along the 2 or 3 that seem to have the best rep. (I don't think I can post those in the public forum.)

Also, the classifieds in the Prescott Daily Courier online, especially the Sunday edition, have tons of rentals listed. Here's the link for that: http://prescottdailycourier.com/

Hope you have a very smooth relocation!

Christy - the exterior walls are up and it's starting to look like a "Lowe's" store. I'm not sure about the interior walls. They're really working fast and furious on it.

The weather will be better than Lake Havasu. The area is very beautiful but there are some drawbacks to this area:

The Lowes you speak of was protested by many residents. Here in Prescott, people hate growth & progress, especially the people who have lived here since the 80's & 90's. They tried to stop the Lowes from being built and there are bumper stickers on cars driving around stating "Boycott Lowes' and "Don't Buy at Lowes".

If it has to do with growth, road expansions, new stores, etc. IT WILL BE PROTESTED. The people here who protest have $$$$ and the time to hire lawyers and make life miserable for new businesses. You can read all about the insanity here:
http://www.dcourier.com/index.asp?PollID=12#PollSection

65% of residents HATE the new growth and new stores. That is A LOT.

There is a group who is now suing the city council and the county board. They are trying to stop a 2-lane road from being widened. Even though the areas population has tripled:
http://www.dcourier.com/main.asp?Sec...rticleID=44622
http://www.dcourier.com/main.asp?Sea...ectionID=1&S=1

If you have kids, teach them right, as meth is HUGE out here. We had 6 homicides last year in Prescott alone. Most were from drug deals. The most recent, was a 18 year old boy who was shot & killed because he owed money. Prescott is a "small town" but the crime is on the rise.

So, beware who you talk to about Lowes. Some love it, others will hate you for it, especially if they find out your moving here because of it and that your husband will run it. You can develop some enemies quickly.

This area is VERY WEIRD & HOSTILE when it comes to new businesses. Just beware....
