We want to move to the Northern Arizona area but hubby is a Class A CDL driver, is there any jobs? We live in the Seattle area right now.

The job situation here in probably not unlike anywhere. If he drives for a major company, or wishes to, his best bet is to apply or ask them. My friend's son in law drives for Swift and lives in Prescott Valley and he stays busy, but he is long haul and so is gone a lot. It just depends on what you are looking for.

Default Thank you

Thank you for that information about jobs. Anyone else with any ideas for work in Northern Arizona?

Lots of jobs in healthcare. Of course, any kind of construction job or related jobs are scarce. You just have to keep your ears and eyes open. Check out the want ads in the Prescott Daily Courier online, especially the Sunday edition. Also check out www.BetterPrescottJobs.com (broken link) and Career Builder online.

Unfortunately the national economy is having an impact here as it is in most places. We're all hoping things turn around soon.

As far as trucking jobs, those are pretty hard to come by here anyway, although you might check with Coca-Cola, Ace Hardware (which has a big distribution center here), and there are also some other distributors and bottlers here. We're just not central enough for any big trucking firms, though. Flagstaff might have some, since they're on I-40.

Thanks Gretchen. We are wondering about public transportation and working as a bus driver for my husband? We saw a bus service to the Grand Canyon but we wonder if there is a metro bus service in Northern Arizona? Do ya'll get bus service? If so what is the name of it to look up for possible jobs?

To my knowledge there is no public bus system in the Prescott area, but there are shuttles & taxi's. There are two shuttle services here that go down to Phoenix regularly (Shuttle-U and Prescott Transport).
