Hi Guys, Hubby wants to know all we can about Williams? How far is that from Prescott? Just any info or pictures we can get will be greatly appreciated? Would love to hear from someone who lives or has lived there.

Williams by road is roughly 70 miles . go North on HWY 89 to I-40 East and another 20 or so miles will get you there .
i don't live there but do grocery shop there .

Annie, my wife and I just visited Williams last week, on two separate days. Lovely small town, worth a trip.

If you go there, by all means eat at the Pine Country Inn, a half mile south of exit 163 off I-40. They bake about 35 different pies and cakes each day, and the coconut cream pie is to die for; one piece is huge, enough for 2 people. The food is great too.

This is the town where the Grand Canyon RR operates trains up to the south rim of the Grand Canyon, a cool trip, and no parking problems up at the rim, which is walkable, and there's a free shuttle bus up at the rim.

Shh don't let the word out about Pine Country Inn! That place is great, have to order desert 1st then take the meal home. That is my place of choice every time I am in town.
Williams does have water problems as it draws from the local lakes which during the dry years is not so good. Other than that the people are good and polite that I have met. It is a tourist town and really depends on the grand canyon.
