Haha, you're too funny. Everyone knows you can't get addicted to pot.
Honestly, it sounds like any other city right now, I lived in Michigan for a while too and that area was all tweakers.

Re read my post. I still say that folks treat you the way you treat them. I have NEVER found folks in Prescott (or most other places for that matter) to be snobby or mean.

Hey, hey, calm down. I'm not being defensive or anything. I've always been nice to the folks here, it's just when I first moved here they were the ones who made their own conclusions about me without ever talking to me first to see what I was like. But I'm a really sweet person to everyone. I just didn't get the right vibes since being here really. Just because I don't dress like them, or have long blonde hair, or have a lot of kids doesn't give them the right to get on me when they don't want to take the chance to KNOW me first.
I wasn't being mean to you....

Lina, I am calm and I never said you were mean to me...not even sure where that came from. I don't think you are mean. I don't know anything about you. I was just saying that, in my experience, the folks in Prescott are generally nice and that I have found most people around this country to be nice as well. Simple as that.

Not to get off topic, but marijuana is addicting and coming off the drug, can cause some serious withdrawal symptoms. Marijuana of today is much more potent and dangerous due to the genetic engineering of the plant. They are making it more potent.
Recent research found that nearly 75% of marijuana users experience a pronounced withdrawal syndrome. Symptoms include anxiety, irritability, depression, mood swings and sleep problems. Long-term symptoms, which include anxiety, anhedonia (inability to experience pleasure), fatigue, memory problems and boredom can last for several months. As a result early recovery is like rollercoaster ride and marred by frequent relapse.
Lastly, you are reading too much into the posts. Don't get "emotional" over people's posts by trying to read in "feelings" or "moods" of the person posting.

I have heard about how wonderful Prescott use to be. Everyone knew each other. It was a close knit community. And then the Californians came and of course, they wanted Prescott to have some of the same ammenities as they were use to. Walluh!! Introducing Costco, Sam's Club, etc.
Change is hard. We all want the happier times, the use to be's, to exist.
I am sorry for your loss. I live in Chino Valley and even though I haven't lived here long, I don't want it to change. I love the country feeling.

Can we all go back to the 50's when everything was shiny and it only took one income to raise a family?

You could raise a family on one income today if you wanted to. Recall that in the 50's, the average house was about 1,000 sqft, 2 bedroom, 1 bath. A family had 1 car, no credit cards - their only debt was their mortgage. They did not eat out unless it was a special occasion. They only had meat at home once or twice a week. I bet if you lived that modestly, you could easily get by with one income.

Actually, Marijuana today has the same exact chemical structure as it did 1000 years ago, the only thing that has changed is the cultivation methods, as more research was done and the plant was understood, we have been able to dramatically increase the plants THC levels.
Back in the day, 99% of people smoked male/hybrid plants, find an all female (seedless) plant in the 60's was impossible. The cultivation methods used now allows us to kill off male plants, and keep them from infecting the female plants, which produce the "chronic" variations of marijuana, for the most part, a 100% female plant will produce no seeds, and exceptional quality marijuana, with a high THC content. Male plants on the other hand, produce overgrown MJ plants, lots of seeds and stems in the buds, and overall poor quality MJ. Stress on a plant can also create seeds, there is a strong science backing behind the cultivation of marijuana.
I will admit that you can have withdrawals, but they do not compare to drugs like Nicotine and Caffeine even. I feel a little irritated for the first day or two, but working out usually solves that problem, after the first 1-2 days of no smoking, you feel fine. I have taken probably 10-15 breaks from smoking in the last 6 years, ranging from 1 day to 3 weeks, and I have never experienced any major symptoms. I think caffeine addiction is worse, the headaches are horrible!
