Are you talking about the old "Grange" building along the east side of the Hwy on the south end of town? I noticed it's for sale now. I would think the building has a ton of history and would (should) be on the National Historic Register. I'm curious about its history, too.

It has been used as a church and a residence and a used furniture store during the 23 years I have lived in Chino. Not sure who it actually belongs to now.

From what i was told it use to be a Morman church back in the early 1900's. Not sure if that is true but would like to know it's history as well.

It says "Grange" on the building, which those were the places where farmers and ranchers met and discussed things of import to their livelihood. The National Grange of the Order of Patrons of Husbandry - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I think the building would make a cool restaurant. We have some friends that took an old historic building in Colorado and converted it into the neatest Italian restaurant. The guys play guitar and sing requests whenever they take a break from the kitchen. It's so unique and fun.

I'd really like to see the building preserved in some way. I suppose it could be an antique store, but there's not the interest in antiques that there once was.
