Question centipedes in chino valley :-O

I'm a long time resident of prescott, (20+ years) & recently moved to chino valley, bought an older home, we have had about a dozen small & large centipedes in the house in this last 3 months, Don't normally like to bug spray(young children & pets.... BUT can't stand these damn things!! Wishing now we never moved here. Is this a regular problem here in CV? neighbor says he's had some, but he lives in a mobil off the ground. Never had a problem with these in Prescott & surrounding areas

I think it's random. We get one every now and then in our office building, but not our home. We're halfway between PV and Dewey. Maybe a mother centipede laid some eggs that keep hatching? I don't know how to get rid of them.

Unfortunately, the centipedes are in Prescott and the surrounding areas. The tri-city is centipede country. You just got lucky that you did not get them when you lived at that Prescott home.

I get them inside my Prescott business, a lot. I have a company spray but they are very tough and do not die fast, but it will eventually kill them. Besides that, they are POISONOUS! Man, if you get bit, it will hurt, really bad.

I would use GLUE TRAPS to try and catch them inside the home. If you have pets, they might get caught in the glue traps also.

You have to realize that every place you visit has bug spray. When you visit a store, bathroom, even restaurants, they spray for bugs. In Arizona, not spraying for bugs, will usually cause a bug infestation. Depending on where you live. Once an area has been professionally sprayed, and the spray dries, it is not harmful to people and pets, as long as they don't eat off the ground. Have the exterminator spray OUTSIDE of the home, this will kill them before they get inside.

You have to be pro-active. Glue traps work great but depending on your pets, that might pose a problem.

SPRAY OUTSIDE
SEAL YOUR DOOR GAPS, WINDOWS, ETC to prevent bugs from coming in
USE GLUE TRAPS INSIDE

This should bring an end to your pest problem

I have been a home owner for about seven years in Chino Valley in an in-ground mobile home. This is the first time I have seen a centipede in my shower. They can leave a painful sting but most species are not dangerous. Since the centipedes can't retain moisture very well you can expect them around sources of water such as drainage pipes. I wonder if they are in the sewer system which would explain why I saw one in my shower? This year is my first year of being connected to a town sewer system; the previous years I was using my own septic tank and never saw a centipede. I hope their presence will diminish in the coming years .
