So, What's Up With The Pinon Pines Bar & Grill?? (Phoenix: live, bars)

Since last September they've had strippers and such. The last time I was there was last month and they said they now have male strippers too.

What the hell has become of Pinon Pines Bar & Grill??!! I loved it when they only had bands play, people dancing, some of the bikers come in to have fun and such. I heard that it's a dump now. Most of the regulars are gone and don't go there anymore.

That sucks!! When are they ever going to make it a regular bar/club again?

And what's up with the new managers and bartenders? They aren't as fun and nice as the last ones from 2 years ago. That place sucks now.

i agree w/ the original poster....i enjoy coming into a place where there is drink, dance, pool, food....not strippers and wet t shirt contests....if i wanted strippers and wet t shirts, i would totally go to that type of bar.....i think pinon pines is 'reaching' trying to make it as all bars these days are...if they only would see we want regular entertainment...good drink...good food...pool...conversation...song....and make it the best...it would all be good...but they are reaching for the cheap way....too bad i don't have some capital to run my own place

I went the other day, about 2 days ago, and they are closed now. They said, on the sign on the front door, that they are closed for new management and inventory...

Well, that's great news for me, because the old management (which took over about 2 years ago), sucks. They have no personalities and weren't as nice. I wished they could bring back the old management from 2005-2006, those folks were awesome and kept the place fun and lively.

Oh, great news: It's still open! But it's better than ever. I went there about 2 weeks ago and met the owner. He came down from Phoenix and took it over about 4 months ago (thank God!). He's made it into a more "family style" type of bar and grill place. I love how he rebuilt the new stage (that's right, no more dancers there. Thank God!). And even have tables too near the bar area now (I love that). Those high table with chairs (like they have at Applebee's).

I just the love the new place now. It was about time, really. The place before was getting too snobbyish and previously before that it had way too many biker type folks in there. I love the new change.

I understand that Mac Daddy is going to start playing there. I'm waiting for an email from their lead singer regarding the dates.

I've seen a lot of bands play there before, but I never knew their names and such. I can't keep up with all that.

Mac Daddy is great. They play a mix of country and rock. I'll post when I find out when they're playing.
