Love It!
We love Cottonwood! We may not have big city jobs.. but we don't have all the cons that go along with big city living either. Beautiful area... Lots to see and do outdoors, Thursday nights in Old Town Cottonwood brings the Farmers Market and free live music in the Park. When was the last time ya had T-Bone steaks for under 4 bucks a pound!

Cottonwood is great in my opinion, if it weren't for the fabulous hiking in Sedona, I'd probably be there!
I love looking at Miongus mountain, being close to Jerome etc.

Cottonwood is great. I live there and work in Sedona. I love to play golf. When it gets really hot in July or August we just go up the line to Flagstaff where the temp is 84. When it gets cold in January, we go South for 45mins to 75degrees in North Phoenix.
Job market, not so good unless you're in the hospitality business. Casino is the largest employer, Plus all the hotels for the tourists heading for the Grand Canyon.
I love it here but then, I'm close to retirement and plan to stay. It's a lot cheaper to live in Cottonwood than Sedona. Sedona is only 20 minutes away for all the sights and activities. When the relatives come, it's an easy ride to show them the "Red Rocks" and eat at a nice resturant. Actually the best resturant in the Verde Valley/Sedona area is located in Cottonwood. Nick's Italian Steak and Crab House.

You must drive REALLY fast...it's at least 10-15 minutes just from Walmart on 260 to the I17.

Not especially fast. Probably splitting hairs here. Maybe an hour total. I was actually making a point about the temp. differences between Cottonwood going south for 45 mins. and Cottonwood going north for 45mins. But thanks for the correction.

I hear ya...it always seems to take me closer to 2 hours from Sedona even though I aim to get there faster.

Hi all you Arizonians!! I need your expert advice if you have a sec. I am moving from southwest Colorado to Arizona and am looking at the Cottonwood/Cornville/Camp Verde or Dewey area. I am bringing my business with which is pet sitting and was wondering if I could "pick your brain"!! (nasty saying but makes sense!! LOL!). Do you think that a pet sitting service would be well received in the Cottonwood/Verde Valley area? I know Dewey is more of a "rural", more down home atmosphere but Cottonwood seems to have a lot more tourists and/or snow birds who like to go sight seeing, shopping, etc. Most campers and RV'ers seem to bring their dogs when they travel so I was thinking that they could use a good pet sitter to watch them while they go play!
What do you think?
Any ideas/helpful hints/suggestions (good or bad) would be GREATLY appreciated!!
Thanks much and have a beautiful day!
Shar

Shar,
Pet sitting is a much needed service. However; I would imagine it is a service that one needs to establish their credibility. I would become bonded. I think it is a excellent service and one that is always needed.
