Lightbulb Relocate Cottonwood or Cornville

my husband and I are looking at Cornville or Cottonwood to relocate....we are looking for a great view affordable housing, under 200k, how is the quality of life...we are not in retirement mode yet, have about 15 more yrs. also how is the job market, im a bookkeeper and he is self employed computer analyst. we were looking for at least 1 acre, but seems to be all modulars. want a new home but cant find anything over .25 acres....any ideas. we are in the poconos, love the mountains and have a nice mountain place.. i guess im getting older..the winters are too much for me.

Cottonwood and Cornville are very small, not much in the way of job market, I don't think. Nice area to live, but perhaps more suited to when you are in retirement mode.

Well, Anthem is very different than Cottonwood or Cornville. A lot of people are making that commute, making for fairly heavy traffic on I-17. You aren't going to find anything other than small lots in Anthem proper, either.

Just passed through Cottonwood after 20 years. It has grown a lot and lots of businesses even in a recession.
Cornville is connected to cottonwood but I think you get less city services living there and the homes look like on well and septic.
I was quite impressed with cottonwood and the growth and the low cost living. But I am sure you get all the same crime and problems areas of poverty have.
Very scenic and temperate climate. If you do get a little snow it melts right away. Can get in 90's in summer but since elevation is not too high it won't feel too bad.

Good spot if you want a low cost area to live and many retirees.

It can get a lot hotter than the 90's, try 110. It was 115 in Sedona (which is cooler) this July!

It was 109.7 according to Sedona Weather dot net just a couple of weeks ago and that same day my outdoor thermostat said 115 in the shade...it is actually located under a very wide overhang.

It's hard to put much faith in home thermometers... I haven't seen many that I thought were particularly accurate as to air temperatures. But, not worth arguing about. It can get hot in Sedona.... it's still desert, just higher desert than Phoenix.
