Default New Prescott Valley Library

Denied:1up! Software ()

OK, to all the critics, I have something GOOD to say about the new Prescott Valley Library....

I LOVE THE LOOK/DESIGN OF IT!

Many residents are criticizing it, they say that it looks "too modern". But I love the look.

The Prescott area is NOTORIOUS for cheesy, Thomas Kinkade, ornamental, cutsie, stuff everywhere. They even have a Thomas Kinkade gallery in town. I think I am going to be sick.

I actually like the modern architecture of the library. It's a breath of fresh air to the area. Especially since the rest of the area is notoriously ornate. I like "rustic" but I despise ornate, cheesy designs.

But I do have one negative thing to say. The library cost $25 million. Once again, money that could have gone to build and maintain a Level One Trauma Center.

Is it already open now? I'd love to see it soon.

I don't live too far from it, but I rarely ever go that way for anything. But I do go to the library there sometimes (but not in the past 3-4 months though).

Yeah, that money could have went on to a Level 1 Trauma Center.

And also a public parking lot too (that can fit 100 cars or more in it). So, you can walk around town without having to drive all over the place and try to find a parking space to fit it. In the heart of P.V., I mean, where the movie theater is, Zeke's Restuarant, Buffalo Wild Wings, and other places in that specific area (a public parking lot across the street from those would be great).

I was never in the library that was around a few years ago but it looked nice from the outside. Sat on the steps to wait for tow truck. It looked very nice to me. YOu mean they built another library?

I went by there just 2 days ago and it looks great! It's beautiful. I can't wait to go in and see what kind of books and such they have in there now. Do they have more books in there now? I hope so...They hardly had anything when they had that little space in the building next to it (the courthouse building it used to be in).

Moderator cut: rude However, I agree that if there was already a library, why waste the money on another one? But, if this is "the" library then I don't see a problem with it. And mixing modern with rustic, nothing wrong with that; cheesy, on the other hand...again, agreed, some people try too hard, whether it's decoration or degredation.

I love the new P.V. library. I went in on Monday and it was just great! They needed a really good one. The last one was just way too tiny. I love it now. It's more space and you don't feel like someone is snooping around on you or anything, anymore. And you can browse through the books so much better, much more space in the aisles.

Latest poll results about the new library:

22%
I like everything about it, it's a great addition to the community and the architecture is progressive.

45%
I don't like it, the architecture doesn't fit our community.

18%
I don't care about the architecture, I just like having the added space and amenities it offers.

15%
I don't like anything about it.

60% of the residents DO NOT like the new library. They must be negative people , but I love the new library, both in architecture and function.

Why are 60% of the people so negative?

Moderator cut: off topic my uncle loves the new library and he wasn't asked to participate in any poll. You do know that polls have a certain amount of deviation from accuracy and are highly dependent on the demographic asked to complete the poll? So quoting them--and not even naming a source--is just more questionable press selected to support your agenda.
