Well, as of Friday Nov 6th, the unemployment #'s for October were at 10.2% for the USA.

The corrected/real #'s were shown to be at 17.5% unemployment for the USA. According to The Department of Labor, the real marker of American unemployment stands at 17.5%, a figure which takes into account under-employed workers and those who have not sought work in the last four weeks, according to a published report.

Everyone I talk to says things are getting worse. These are people involved in the business world. Look at all the commercial properties that are for sale.

It's times like these that weed out the undisciplined, unmotivated and incompetent. If you are skilled and have a great work ethic, you'll find something out there--you just have to take the time to find it, hit the papers and the pavement, do the footwork.

If you're not very skilled then now's a great time to work on those skillsets and improve your abilities. This economy doesn't support slackers--and those that are already employed will get weeded out as the belt tightens.

When the economy rebounds, those who put in the hard work and were diligent in their efforts will find themselves in a better spot than those who milked the system with minimal effort. In fat times maybe it's not so obvious who the lazy ones are but when times are lean--they are very obvious.

So hit the pavement! You're not going to get a job offer in these forums, you need to get up and get moving, do the legwork, go sell yourself and your abilities. Yeah, the unemployment rate is high but there are jobs out there for people who are willing to crack knuckles and get to it.
