Prescott/Prescott Valley/Chino Valley - ALERT TO HOMEOWNERS
Has anyone been following this Townsend Construction and the Yavapai County Assessor, Victor Hambrick, corruption story???
Last I read. Townsend Construction has filed for bankruptcy and they are investigating Townsend & the Yavapai County Assessor for inappropriate transactions/dealings in excess of $3 million dollars with Townsend. I have been told that anyone with a Townsend home warranty will be out-of-luck as they are not covering anything that breaks. They are busted themselves- BANKRUPT - Corruption..
Read it here and weep...

Here is a letter from one of the Prescott Valley residents to the Prescott Courier editor:
EDITOR:
The Townsend bankruptcy is not surprising to many people.
My question is, "why did the Courier not report any of the public information leading up to this bankruptcy?"
I am certain that many people would have been a little wiser, and many people would not have poured money into a widening hole if they had at least a little exposure to negative but public information about Townsend information steadily accumulating at the state agencies over the past 12 months information available to Courier journalists.
Is the Courier sitting on other real estate information that might not look so good for the Tri-City area?
I agree. People were buying Townsend homes and ALL THE WHILE, NOBODY was telling the people. Not the papers, not the realtors, nobody. Now these hard-working people are getting SHAFTED by Townsend & the County. This areas IS SO CORRUPTED it is nauseating.
I am just waiting to hear about the Fain Signature Group and all the corruption and back-door deals they are doing. Oh wait, here it is:

So many people got ripped-off and lost thousands of dollars. This town is SO CORRUPT it is mind-boggling. You have Tax Assessors and Developers scamming. Moderator cut: no names please
I can't wait to get the h@#@ out of here! It was a BIG mistake moving here. A small town with aspirations to become big, with rich & corrupt families calling the shots, I hope they all end up in jail...

If you can find a really, really good paying job here, then you can afford a house here. But good luck. Jobs are very scarce, don't pay enough, and the houses are way to damn expensive...

Former Yavapai County deputy was once head of the Washington state Aryan Nation chapter.
PRESCOTT - A Yavapai County Sheriff's Office deputy who is in jail on drug charges was the former leader of the Aryan Nations white supremacist group in Washington in the early 1990s, the Sheriff's Office says.
Sheriff's Office detectives arrested Justin L. Dwyer, 39, on Sunday after a tip from a jail inmate about Dwyer's alleged cocaine use prompted a month long investigation.
On Sunday, while off duty, Dwyer obtained a usable amount of cocaine and drove to a convenience store at the intersection of Gurley and Sheldon St., in Prescott where deputies arrested him, the Sheriff's Office says.
"We learned that Dwyer was hired with the knowledge that he had been a former member of the Aryan Nation up in the State of Washington," Rhodes said. "He was hired by previous Sheriff Buck Buchanan. Buck had the knowledge of Dwyer's background at the time. I have no idea why he was hired, but he was".

We spent 15 years fighting the same thing in a small mountain town in CA. It too was very nepotistic and corrupt. Some of the folks tried to ruin my husbands business as soon as they took our money for a house. These things happen all over the states in small towns. We learned how to fight back and can tell you that in time these "good old boys" will wash away with the new people coming in. It will change, all things change. I still think Prescott is a great future place to retire.

Re: Iron Springs Rd. widening & improvement in Prescott, AZ.
About a year ago or so the Prescott Mayor and City Council rejected a bid of $12 million because the bid was too high. They decided to wait until a they received a lower bid.
Well, guess what?
They waited and waited and then they accepted a bid for $17 million.
Hmmmmmmmmm?
