I am wondering about the future position of this prospect in the NFL

Atrributes......

He is listed as 6'6, 235 pounds and has a 40 time of 4.48

Possibilities.....

1. Remain at QB
2. Move to WR
3. Move to TE. Basicly, a pure pass catching TE w/ limited blocking skills.

I say #2. I don't think this kid has a chance to be a QB in the NFL. Thoughts?

Definetly has to get more accurate. He's been bailed out by the fact he can away with athleticism and teams will play 8 man fronts against him at the college level. Teams in the NFL have guys in the front 7 faster than Pryor. Unless he can prove he's more than a viable drop back QB he's a career backup/AFL'er

Let's see how he pans out this season...i do agree with your comments and will say WR. He did it in the Texas game with old QB Todd Beckman... almost forgot his name.

I would say Wide Receiver as well, with his size he might as well take advantage of that position.

I wonder how well he can throw and make plays. An intelligent IQ is needed for QB too.

He's way too stiff in the hips to play DB.

I actaully saw him play his senior year in high school and the one thing that stood out to me then was his decision making. I still have the same reservations now. Like someone said above me, he's not going to out run everyone when option #1 is covered. I'm not sure he's being prepared as a drop back passer in that offense at Ohio State. They give him a couple simple reads, and if you don't see anything, be an athlete. Ask Vince Young how that works out. Ask JaMarcus Russel.

I'm not saying Pryor is Peyton Manning when it comes to preperation, but a big reason for the lack of success on the parts of VY and JaMarcus Russell seems to be the lack of mental preparation. And Russell was never an athletic type QB. Just some big dude who could chuck a football a mile and a half (and not much else). But for all we know Pryor could turn out to be the next McNabb. The athletic skills are there but this year is going to be a real crossroads to see if he can read a defense, stand in the pocket, and take a hit. I do think he is the boom or bust type.

I personally hope he does continue to improve his game and become a mcnabb type or better. His physical skills definitely aren't the issue. We haven't really seen a qb put it all together like that since mcnabb. I hope the right people step up to work with him.

OSU QB Troy Smith when Tressel made him into a drop back passer it seemed to me he lost his natural instinct to know when to run...he didn't feel the heat. Can't wait for the Canes vs. Buckeyes game this year! Go Bucks!... OH - IO !
