Sadly, they won't bench Favre. The man's an NFL legend -- would they really snap his 289-game starting streak like that? He's terrible (way too old. 41?!?! seriously?), but the coaches won't sit him.

So the Viking coaching staff care more about Favre's streak than what may be best for the team? Maybe Favre is still a Packer at heart. Be careful who you sell your soul to...

KSTP TV ( Minneapolis) reported Favre practiced today, but did not throw a single pass.

They stated if a game was today, Favre would not play.

Also reported that the main " cure" for Favr's elbow ailment is rest.

It was stated Jackson might get more playing time.

....and so he has been playing hurt and stinking up the place. So at 1-3 the Vikings management finally sounded the fire alarm and are trying to salvage the season.

I really don't want to hear the excuses at this point but they will be flying out of ESPN like crazy and they should have rested him last season instead of flaming out down the stretch.

If they start him for the first series just to preserve his "streak" I hope he throws an INT for a TD and they lose by 5. That would be a fitting reward for putting individual stats in front of the team needs. (Unless the team is hopeless, then it doesn't matter ala Emmitt Smith and AZ.)

Pants on the ground. The guy is older than dirt for an NFL player and will get hurt this season.
I don't wish that upon him but it isn't a matter of if. It is a matter of when.

Normally I like people who won't quit, but I didn't like that Mississippi boy from day one, so... yea.
Pants on the ground. Ball is on the ground a lot too.

He is good at throwing interceptions, I'll give him that.

Unsticky the Favre bean. He is a toolbag.

Solid game against a bad team.

Perfect example of how the Vikings should be beating most of thier opponents so far if they don't give the game away with fumbles and turnovers.

They really can't beat themselves against the inferior teams anymore...there isn't much slack left in thier record and hope to make the placeoffs.

I would be more concerned with Brees on Madden than pants on the ground.

when you're team is 0-4 in the Big One I guess some fanbases turn to video games....

all this hubbub over a guy in 28th place for QB rating in the National Football League. Where did he finish last year? You'd think the guy won 6 superbowls and just recently.

the most overrated, hyped athlete in all sports in the history of all media.

Dude! He managed 1 more win than the *god awful* (by viking fan description) Tavarius jackson....with a ton of defensive talent added too. LMAO...doesn't that mean he is going to get them the rest of the way?

Seriously, the vikings have had and still have a superbowl contender....they're just too stupidly run to seal the deal. Hell, even a 1-3 start still has them clinging to favre like a mouse to a turd in a sewer flash flood.

Favre can still have his moments but relying on him for a 16 game season and then be fresh for the playoffs is utter stupidity.
