The Buffalo Bills finally have reached terms with rookie holdout C.J. Spiller, the ninth selection in this year's draft.

ESPN.com's John Clayton reports Spiller's deal is for five years and $25 million with incentives that can pump the value to $37.5 million. Spiller received $20.8 million in guarantees. Spiller is expected to sign the contract Friday afternoon.

The Bills opened training camp at St. John Fisher on July 29 without the dazzling playmaker from Clemson. He will get carries out of the backfield but also will contribute as a slot receiver and return man.

Spiller was drafted to stimulate an offense that has ranked 25th, 30th, 30th, 28th, 25th and 30th over the past six seasons.

"You're going to be the No. 1 guy that gets us going," Bills owner Ralph Wilson told Spiller at the rookie's introductory news conference in April.

The Bills haven't made the playoffs in a decade, tying the Detroit Lions for the longest active drought.

"The Buffalo Bills for the last 10 years -- and this is my fault -- we’ve been a dull team, really dull," Wilson said. "It's no fun to go out there. I said to one of our coaches a few years ago, 'You know, there's no excitement.' He said 'Listen, if you win, that's all that counts. Winning.' The only thing is, we didn't win much. But we're going to turn that around."

Spiller was the second-to-last rookie not under contract. Seattle Seahawks tackle Russell Okung is the lone straggler.

Good to see ya in practice, Spiller!

Spiller is a special player and great guy. I'm glad to see him being successful. If he gets any blocking, he will put on a show.

Spiller and Jackson baby!!! As long as our O-line is good... then they'll be awesome

Not just the O Line, the special teams has to cover well, too! Spiller will be returning kicks primarily in Buf this year. But if that line shows up Jackson could prove that last year was no fluke.

Spiller should provide some spark, but the Bills are really a basket case of problems.

Their O-line is a shambles. Both tackles are projects, left guard Eric Wood is returning from a major leg injury, the center is a retread.

The quarterbacking might be the worst in the league.

They have 1 proven receiver in Lee Evans.

The defense is changing to a 3-4, most players are learning new positions, and it is a huge work in progress.

I just would not expect much from them this year. They have a few young players which will be interesting to see, with Spiller at the top of the list. However, he is not going to save this crew!

Worst part, I have season tickets to watch this disaster!

PS, Spiller should get lots of reps this preseason now, Fred Jackson (broken wrist) and Marshawn Lynch (injured ankle) are likely out hurt for the remainder of the pre-season, and possibly into the regular season.

Hey, count your blessings. I wish that I could go to one Bills game. Down here the Bucs face being blacked out each Sunday.
