This wouldn't have been the Lions' first rodeo losing a game because they couldn't convert on the extra point. The closing minute was intense. It's good to see them dig out of a situation like this for a change instead of shooting themselves in the foot. FOX kept showing the "Motor City Miracle" and I couldn't help but think it was going to be a bad omen once Prater shanked that extra point. Too much for my ol' blood pumper to handle!

A lot of wild finishes this kickoff weekend.

At least for "away" games.

I recall one year when the Lions hosted the Pack in the wildcard round of the playoffs. Blacked out because it wasn't sold out. I don't miss the Pontiac days.

'Cept for 1991.....of course....

I was going by a shaded map I saw online, showing upper half of the mitten broadcasting Packers!

Great game by the Lions, Stafford looked good, in control, congrats on the win!

I couldn't watch any football last Sunday until the night game, so I was forced to tune into the home team here laying an egg vs. the Patriots. But I did catch the replay on the interwebby last night (Lions vs. Colts), and while the outcome wasn't the "Same 'ole Lions", the fourth quarter showed gleams of what we Lions' fans are used to.

Detroit was in control right up until Mr. Luck and his offense woke up, or the Motown D started to get tired......you decide.

Ebron made a clutch grab in traffic for a TD, and he finally showed a reason why we drafted him.

Riddick proved his worth by his sense of the field during that nice TD run later in the game. Loved how Detroit's receivers showed discipline by not being called for holding. Not great blocks, but just enough to get in the way of the DBs so Theo could score.

Kudos to Coach Caldwell for his time management. All three timeouts left with 37 seconds on the clock. One less TO and we would've prob'ly had a different outcome.

Marvin Jones, Jr. Looks like a steady go-to receiver. Hopefully he and Mr. Tate will put up some good numbers this year.

Prater didn't pout after missing the extra point. I think it was a 46 yarder for the win.???? He was quoted that he felt that he could kick a 60 yarder after the miss....he was so angry with himself. Don't laugh, he's done it before.

They fell into old trappings but overcame their usual selves. When Prater missed the XP my memories drifted to that game they lost to the Vikings some years back because of a botched extra point. Stafford really showed what he's capable of and I loved that he yelled at his receiver for not going out of bounds after the catch on the last drive. He had a great game. Hopefully this is an effort they can keep up.

The refs were brutal. I am convinced Ebron's nullified touchdown was a b.s. call. But there was also a number of crucial dropped passes and typical dumb Lions penalties. Caldwell and Co. let the Titans off the hook today. Cue Dennis Green (RIP).

Injuries are staring to rack up. The defense hasn't been the same since Suh took his talents to South Beach. Stafford did make some good throws today, one across body whilst on the run, and a few quality gallops down the field and I love seeing his leadership skills finally kicking in.

Next week is going to be huge.

It will be huge. Stafford is looking much better and I thought they were going to win this game. I picked them to win! Definitely some issues with refs calls, and I'm sure there will be an article or two written about it.

The only score that I was aware of was the safety that gave Detroit a 2-0 lead. I was listening to the radio, even in UP and parts of Northern Wisconsin.

I haven't checked the local TV listings. I'd like to see the game but I can't handle beer & grease bomb food at the bar at 10:00am....

It's a shame because Packer fans out here feel sorry for me and buy me beer.

And there's a lot of 'em.....
