Lions definitely need players around Stafford. Last year once they got to teams with better records they couldn't hold up and win games. They made the playoffs, lost their 1st game. It isn't all on Stafford, he needs help.

Laken Tomlinson (G) has been traded to San Francisco for a '19 5th round pick. Cutting cost since he was not in future plans.

Lions trade Tomlinson to 49ers for

Team also donated $1million to Harvey relief.

Greg Moore of The Arizona Public has selected the Detroit Lions to defeat the Oakland Raiders in the Super Bowl. His prediction is online and in print. Not sure if this is a joke but bless this man.

Lions looked terrible out of the gate.....lost their punter, overall poor special teams play. Offense was horrid in the first half.

Defense showed up to play....who wooda thunk it?

Prater showed up though.....give that guy a drink....er.....non alcoholic drink, LOL

Stafford & Co. finished the game strong. Cooter stuck with his anemic running game and it wasn't too terrible. Overshadowed by 4 TD passes.

Way too many penalties.

Mr. Washington was showed up by a rookie in the second half regarding special teams. Coach Caldwell kept him in the game though. He likes what he sees overall, and that's cool.

Detroit will be purchasing a punter tonight or tomorrow.

This win breaks the streak of 7 losses in a row to the Cards. Almost a "must win" for their opener at home. It'll shut some people up for the week anyway.

Go Lions!

Welcome back, sir.

Only thing you failed to touch on in your recap was Kenny G. Lions will have a great crop of receivers.

Redfern and Washington were atrocious. Sign a new punter and ST staff needs to get on them and increase their IQ. Those dumb mistakes can be costly. Stafford cannot be expected to orchestrate a comeback every game.

Love the rebound and the win.

Thanks, brother.

I hope the AZ heat didn't melt ya this summer. 'Tis almost over and another day closer to paradise.....palm trees and no crazy earthquakes or hurricanes.

I reckon Kenny G. could play the sax all day and no one would complain......as long he keeps catchin' game breakin' TD passes.

I like the "O" line for pass protection; too bad we didn't concentrate on that line when Barry was playin'.....ya know....run game? Perspective. Mathew is our new Barry.

Lions' defense surprised the hell out of me. I mean, these are the two best mediocre teams going in to the 2017 season. Count on an ex-Motown cat to lead the helm soon in AZ....as Mr. Stanton will soon take over. Palmer is toast.

Redfern may be done for the season. Feel bad for the guy after his 4 year quest to make it into the NFL regular season. All the more reason to play smart when your chance comes up. Had he just taken the safety as any other punter would have the outcome would be different.

Tate left Ford Field with a splint on his hand but in good spirits. Hopefully he's not downplaying the damage to his hand.

I'm not a drinker, but damnit I almost turned to the bottle for comfort during that abysmal first half. An interception on the very first throw? Phew.

Well done lads. Matthew effin Stafford and Golladay Express....wooohooooo. It's just one win but I don't care. This same Cardinals destroyed us last season. Not a big Jim Caldwell fan but this humble pie tastes so yum yum good. #OnePride #BleedHonoluluBlue&Silver.

On to the next one
