We knew that anything less than winning the division AND one playoff victory would be the end for Coach Caldwell in Detroit. Quinn will bring his own guys in (which should've happened two years ago), and build this team into something special. Face it, it's gotta happen NOW, as Stafford can't play forever.

Caldwell brought class to this organization, and it wouldn't surprise me if he ended up in someone's front office. I think that's where he belongs anyway.

If the Lions hire Patricia, that guy will own Motown.

Patricia to Detroit scuttlebutt is running wild. I am hoping for a quick New England exit so all rumor can be confirmed or denied. The level of anticipation is high. Speaking for myself, at least, I've not been more anxious for a Lions new coach.

The Bearded One is officially taking over the reigns of the Detroit Lions. The presser and introduction will be on Wednesday. I'm so happy the Patriots lost. No delays with victory parades or trips. Patricia will come directly to Detroit and come hungry. Eagerly anticipating the draft to see how he and Quinn work together.

Quinn: New coach Matt Patricia can take Detroit Lions to 'next level'

Lions face the AFC East next season so that'll be some familiar opponents for him. Lets have a reunion with Lions hosting the Pats in week 1!

Patricia earned the right to become a head coach. Although many are chastising him for the poor performance of the defense in the Super Bowl, he wasn't the one who put the defense together. The defense in New England has been suspect for a while now. Patricia did a decent job working with the parts he was given. I will miss him as a Pats fan, but we've been through this rodeo of losing coordinators before (Weis/Crennel).

I didn’t picture him sounding like that. I’ve only seen him on the sidelines with his big beard and scowl.

Jim Brandstatter is out as Lions' color man on the radio. Gonna miss him. I'm willing to give Lomas Brown a chance as his replacement, but I really don't think he'll come close.
