Yeah I found out about that a few days ago. I was shocked when they fired him and he was good and that comes from a Packer fans. I got to listen to him and Dan Miller two years now.

This caused a stink in the Detroit media and fan base a few weeks ago. As far as I know there has not been a clear answer as to why Brandstatter was fired. He was quoted as being "blindsided".

A preseason game featuring the Lions is broadcast nationally? I've never been more happy to see lots of oh so Lions missed tackles.

On the eve of the NFL season the axe has fallen upon Anthony Zettel. Surprise move seeing a fan favorite cut but Patricia is re-tooling the defense. Zettel stepped up last season but Patricia is showing the Belichick influence.

I've seen my Lions stink up the joint many times......but this was pathetic. Face it, the Jets are in a rebuilding year. This was horrible. This too, for the Lions, will be a rebuilding year. No where to go but UP.....

I realize it's just ONE game.....

.but c'mon.

Things that were broken last year didn't get fixed. And the things that were working last year are broken. (stolen quote from a Detroit News columnist)...Expect Cooter to be gone right around the "Bye" week, hope for a pass rush as an early Christmas gift, and pray that our franchise QB doesn't get killed.

He's a lot of fun to listen to. Still does Michigan games, I reckon.

The decision to keep Jim Bob Cooter was most curious. Someone, likely Stafford, must have made a big push to keep JBC around and Patricia relented. Austin would have been the better option to keep. After the dismal performance last night JBC is on alert and must fight for a job. Four games on deck rolling into a bye week: at San Francisco, New England, at Dallas and Green Bay. This team could be 0-5 going into the bye.

Hot takes circulating the internet are claiming Patricia has already lost the team because he worked them too hard in preseason. Patricia may have done so but if true the entire roster deserves to be cut. I don't buy the claim. I have more faith in the team.

Stafford has the worst game of his career and he looked like a rookie. The offensive line is still suspect and they let Stafford get rocked on multiple plays. Fear struck my heart when I saw Cassell warming up and come into the game.

Jim Bob Cooter is the root of the offensive woes. His plays are predictable and he runs with Riddick on 2nd & 5 with Blount and Johnson on the sideline? WTF is that?

Valenti took Patricia, Cooter and the Lions to task today.
