The lions will be good when they get some depth. They're playing over injuries which they can't afford. They really are on the right track finally - you can see it, their draft picks are working out. In the past you'd say "what ever happened to so-and-so pick?", these ones are performing! Right now they have two problems: injuries and momentum-killing mental mistakes. They'll be ironed out to a degree next year. They couldn't fill the holes in one year - Schwartz & Co. seem to be good judges of talent.
They're even getting some real respect from other teams even though losing.
But then, what do I know!

I like to think that we're moving in the right direction.

Need a running game bad.......

Gotta squeeze some victories out on the road.....

Can't use injuries as excuses.

Gotta have depth.

San Fran lost their premier running back the other day.

In steps Westbrook.....looked like he was 23 years old.

Coach Schwartz is learning as he goes.

Let's hope he gets real smart soon.

The o-line is always lacking. Plus the above stated. I like where the Lions are headed.

Drew Stanton showed some promise against the Bears.

I don't think he's gonna be wearin' a Detroit uniform next season though.

Best looked good even though he has two sprained toes.

Chris Houston & Alphonso Smith were doormats.

Can we pleez get the ball to Calvin Johnson some more?

Suh is a madman.

I like him.

Missed Vandenbosch a lot.

Suh is a beast. I love this guy.

I think Stanton will be around next season, I think. He's okay in a backup role. But I hope that Stafford can stay healthy next season.

The boys are hangin' tough but, damn, I wish they could seal the deal. Still glad I can watch the games, though.

I was surprised that they were on the tube Sunday.

I think Drew Stanton looks like Ray Liotta.

Remember him?

Goodfellas.

Packers at home.....that's gonna be entertaining.

When I think of the great defensive players in Detroit Lion history, I think of Dick (Night Train) Lane, Lem Barney, Alex Karras, and Joe Schmidt (who BTW finished #84 amongst the greatest players in NFL history.) Suh has a chance to be the best Lion ever, he is that good.

What about Porcher and Spielman? Or are we talking only HoF calibur?

Agree about Suh. He's going to be the best draft pick since Barry.

I was just referring to HOF players, yes. And it's certainly not a put down on Porcher or Spielman. Chris Spielman is caught in the numbers game. He was a three time all pro at linebacker, a four time pro bowler. One would think Spielman should have gone in by now. With Porcher, he was a 3 time pro bowler and 3 time all pro.I'll have to check to see if he made the top 20 semifinalist lists regarding HOF inductees. The reason I listed Alex Karras is the fact that him not being in the Hall I think is wrong. 4 time pro bowler and named to the 1960's all decade team. Is politics involved regarding getting players named? Yes. There are other Lions worth mentioning here, I was just tossing out a few names here, and that's all.

Suh is the most dominant player for a rookie I've seen in years.
