Kerry Hyder. Hopefully the NFL cuts him a break if he doesn't make the roster.

He's still on the roster but more cuts are to come. According to the Detroit Free Press he's on the bubble. His status as an undrafted free agent for 3 straight seasons may hurt him. One source, I forget which, claimed he had the best preseason of any pass rusher. Caldwell appears to like his work ethic. Sometimes showing some heart and hard work can go a long way.

Kerry Hyder picks up three sacks, but remains on Lions roster bubble

If he doesn't make a roster, there is no issue.

NFL players don't pay fines, per se - they have the fines deducted from their salaries. There's no mechanism for collecting fines from non-roster players. And the NFL, even if it wanted to and tried, has no legal power to do so.

Hyder made the final 53. Curious to see if Rudock clears waivers. He's green and untested in a legitimate NFL game but I may have taken a fly on him over Orlovsky.

Rudock cleared and is now signed to the practice squad. Coach Caldwell likes Orlovsky a lot (he had him in Indy), and he wanted some experience in the back up role. At least their third QB is technically on the team.

Missing Drew Stanton yet?

Horrible national coverage for Lions @ Colts today. Aside from my sanity, I'd love the Lions to improve if only to appeal to a larger audience. I can't afford Sunday Ticket (heck, I don't even have Direct TV) and I love to catch a break on my bar tabs that occur each season. Maybe I should just move back to MI.

You would have to be careful where you move in Michigan as much of Michigan gets the Packers game.

Only parts of the UP. In the mitten it's the Lions game. Growing up the Lions game was always on.

Matt Prater sure showed me something in the last 40 seconds of the game. With that TD I thought the Colts had it in the bag. Give credit to the Lions for a win on the road. Unreal finish!
